He listened carefully to what she had to say, his audits catching each of her lyrics with ease. So, it was true then. They were doomed if no action was taken, and only a little less doomed if they did take action. If they took action, only a few of the mortals would be doomed to death. Hah! By a few, he was sure she meant thousands of souls were doomed to die, both spiritually, and physically. To be erased from the face of the earth for good - as if you had never been born. What would that be like? He supposed he would never find out either way, for if he was eradicated from the earth he would never know because he would never have existed. His particles, his DNA, his very being would have never been created on this planet, or any other planet for that manner. The thought even caused his own heart to beat rapidly against his own chest. The king did not scare easily, but this was a big matter. Every thing he had ever cared about was getting threatened, and he felt as if he couldn't protect any one.
"Then we will gather an Army." he said suddenly, his eyes flashing with a determined gaze that none have ever seen before. He took a step forward, his broad chest seeming to puff out in pride. "We will gather an Army that even the great one would hesitate to attack. It won't be easy, but with Erebus leading the attack they'll think twice. I know my brother will understand when I go back, and talk to him about it. All that remains to find others to stand with us because Erebus simply does not have the numbers. Every pack member would be willing to give their lives. That's just the kind of control we have. Alec, and I will lead - as long as Alec follows along. It'll take a while to actually be able to assemble this army this... do you suppose we have time?" He knew the time in this matter was precious, but if there was not enough odd going on's then perhaps they had some precious months to prepare themselves for the fight of a life time. Perhaps they had time to find the few brave souls out there that will actually make an attempt at standing, and fighting.
The he-wolf didn't know of many wolves that had it in them. They were mostly all talk, and no action. He had executed many of them himself merely because they couldn't put their actions where their mouths were. The thought would have normally caused a smirk to grace his handsome muzzle, but now wasn't the time. He just couldn't find it in him to be finding something amusing when they were talking about the lives of millions of wolves. That's a lot of wolves in case you didn't know. He had adverted his gaze from hers quite by accident while he had been in deep thought, and felt her gaze upon his form. He snapped back to attention, his multi hued gaze falling on her. He nearly took a step back. This was a side of her he had not really seen since their meeting. The female was red, with different glowing markings showing up all over her bodice. It was really quite interesting, if you got down to it. His gaze lingered on her Master marking just at the base of her throat.
He wondered what that was supposed to mean? That was when his gaze wandered back to her fiery orange optics, and she made him that promise. He breathed out a sigh of relief, but it was short lived. He nodded curtly, his own optics shining with their own resolve. "But of course. But it won't be quick. I promise you, I will fight to the death. Defeating me won't be easy... you probably won't escape unscathed if the Deity takes control of me. I will be able to cause you damage then." He murmured softly, his optics holding her gaze. "And how do I get a hold of you to let you know?"

It'll take a while to actually be able to assemble this army this... do you suppose we have time?"
The look of determination on his face and the way his chest puffed out in pride made Aria smile uneasily. He was going to do it, for the sake of the world. But he'd asked a somewhat tricky question, so Aria paused to consider her words carefully.
"I do not know exactly how much time we have," she admitted. "It's...short, but to a spirit, such as myself, 'short' could mean anything from a few minutes to a few years, so that doesn't exactly narrow it down." She concentrated. "It will not attack today, tomorrow, or the day after. That much I'm pretty sure of, at least. I can't tell if we have weeks or months, though. I'm quite sure we don't have years." She averted her eyes slightly. "I'm sorry I can't be more help." She fixed her eyes on him again. "But while you and, hopefully, Alec try to amass an army of mortals, I will try to gather one of spirits. How many will actually join me, though, I cannot say. Maybe a few, maybe none at all, depending on how things go."
She seemed to stare off into space for a moment, but when Deimos mentioned how it would be difficult to kill him, she smiled sadly, her eyes still on his.
"It will be as quick as I can make it. In fact, I am quite sure I will fail many times before I succeed in killing you when - if - you're possessed. There is no way for me to kill you while I'm a spirit, but there is a way if I were...No, I can't say it aloud. Not when I'm being monitored. ...It's possible the Great Deity would know a way for spirits to kill mortals. It's possible he's building an army of his own made of mortals and spirits." Aria paused for a moment. She hadn't realized how horrible the thought was until she said it aloud. "I will make sure your loved ones stay safe, and I will succeed in killing you if it comes to that." When Deimos asked how to get in touch with her, the sad smile left her expression, yet her eyes seemed to light up a little.
"If you come to any part of the heavens and call my name, I can come to you in a matter of seconds. If you need something more immediate than that, or for some reason can't access the heavens, then I have a Plan B. I've seen other spirits do this before, but I never got to do it, myself." Her eyes left Deimos's as she concentrated, focusing on the front paw that didn't look like it was engulfed in black flames, and waited. A ball of light slowly began to form between her and Deimos, and it kept forming until it was as big as Deimos. Then, it shot toward him so quickly that, if Aria had blinked, she'd have missed it. If it hit him, he would've felt warmth spread through him, and a mark that looked like a tiny fire would've formed on that paw.

Deimos listened to her as she spoke about how long they actually had. She couldn't tell if it was just a matter of days, or weeks. Maybe even months, but she was definitely sure they didn't have years. He didn't expect it to be that easy, but it would surely be nice. He wasn't sure why she felt the need to avert her gaze every time she gave an answer she thought he might not like. Sure, it was required for a mortal to avert their gaze while speaking to him, but for her? A spirit whom he could not touch even if he wanted to? He found it some what uneasy that she found him uneasy to be around. Was there something else about him that he didn't know? Was this spirit perhaps hiding something from him? Deimos didn't know, and he didn't have very long to think about it because it no sooner had he made his claim of how hard it would be to kill him she was gazing at him again. He could hardly make out what emotion she wore on her sleeve, but this one looked like a sad smile. Why was she sad?
He cringed on the inside as she told him it was quite possible for her to take several tries in killing him before she actually succeeded, and his insides seemed to twist into knots that were unbearable. His heart sank, and for a moment - the first moment in his life - he felt fear for the others around him. That was when she spoke about keeping his loved ones safe no matter what the cost. He seemed to release a breath, then averted his gaze himself. He couldn't allow her to see how weak he was on the inside. He didn't want her to think that he couldn't fight this deity that was slowly corroding his mind, and taking every last bit of his fight away from him. He was no where near giving up, but he knew that his will was not where it used to be. He had grown more sensible, and less arrogant to the ways of the world, but in some ways, that was a good thing. In other ways, it was a bad thing. For example, he now saw the extremity of their task before them, and how near impossible it seemed to be to actually succeed in keeping those around him safe.
For a few moments, Deimos was speechless. Some how, vocals found a way to travel up his now parched throat, and slowly exhale into the atmosphere around them. "Thank you, Aria." Was simply all he could think to say for the time being. As soon as he had brought up the topic of how he was to stay in touch with her, and communicate with her when he was not in the heavens, the sad smile left her constitution, and light seemed to beam into her eyes once more. She spoke about seeing other spirits having done it, but never having done it herself. He was mildly curious, and was about to ask her what she meant when a bright light formed in-between them, and he startled back a inches. His multi hued gaze came to focus on the orb that floated in-between them for a few moments before making head way for him. He tensed up, but didn't run away from the light. Instead, he allowed it to collide with his being.
What he felt next was an odd sensation, really. It was as if some one had ignited a fire deep inside of him, so deep that only a tenth of its warmth could be felt. It was a sensation that spread through out his body like wild fire, but was much too gentle to actually be one. A prickling feeling was felt on his paw, and he looked down to gaze upon the small flame that was beginning to take shape. It took a few moments to come into view, and become solid, but once it did he had to look to her once more. Curiosity was abundant in his gaze, and nearly spoke everything he wished to ask. "What is it?" He asked, his tone very much surprised.

Aria smiled a bit when Deimos thanked her.
"I haven't done anything to deserve your thanks yet," she said. "It is a part of my spirit. You can hardly tell anything's different about me, can you?" It was, indeed, pretty hard to tell anything was out of the ordinary, but her spirit looked a little less full. As in, she looked a tiny bit thinner, a tiny bit shorter, and her fur and eyes were slightly duller. Had she just been her usual gray, it was possible the changes would've been overlooked entirely.
"Now, you call my name any time, anywhere, and I will be there instantly. If you can't do that, all you have to do is think of me and touch your nose to the mark. Think of the mark as a physical representation of that piece of my spirit, and as a spirit summoning mark. There are very strict rules about spirits wandering the mortal world on their own, but if they are summoned by a mortal or demigod, then punishment cannot be given. The reason for this is that if you call me to you, I cannot refuse the pull from that part of my spirit. To do so would be incredibly painful. While you can summon me, I cannot do the same to you. The mark will become more defined if I want to speak with you, but otherwise, I have no way of conveying to you if I need to talk, so you'll want to pay pretty close attention. Also, I cannot leave after you summon me until you dismiss me. I know it's a lot to take in, but there are a few other things I must tell you." She took a breath and her smile faded.
"If you summon me before a group for any reason, there are some among the group that will not perceive me until you point me out to them, and others that will not see or hear me at all. You see, some wolves are afraid of spirits for whatever reason, and this fear causes them to close their minds to beings such as myself. Likewise, those that can perceive spirits can easily eavesdrop on our conversations, so you might want to make absolutely sure we're in an absolutely private setting before summoning me if you do not wish anyone to overhear us. Finally, if that mark gets destroyed somehow, that part of my spirit will return to me, and the process of rejoining will hurt a bit. Not only that, but it is unlikely I'd be able to give you another part of my spirit afterward. So, you know, be as careful as possible."
Her expression turned grave as she thought about the mark. If he were to die, then that part of her spirit would rejoin her only very painfully, and, if he was possessed beforehand, she'd bring it on herself. The thought troubled her, but, of course, she wouldn't say aloud what was on her mind. As much as she wanted to be honest with Deimos, there were some things he was better off not knowing.
"And there is one last matter. If I'm...erased, but you still survive and wear my mark, the piece of my spirit that remains cannot do much of anything on its own. However, it can bring a wolf or a pup back from the brink of death. All you'd have to do is call that part of my spirit and talk to it like you are to me right now, and tell it what you want it to do. It will do what you say. I'd like it very much if you'd use that part of my spirit to save a life if I'm erased. Just so it won't be like I'm gone for nothing. You can do that for me, right? If that scenario occurs?" There was a certain sadness...or was it desperation?...in her gaze as she looked Deimos in the eye.

Nothing to thank her for yet? Oh my, little did she know. He knew deep inside of him that she would succeed in killing him if he ever lost control of himself. That in it's self was a huge relief because he didn't have to worry about losing his brother, or killing Irena. Irena was the Twun in his pack that he had grown very close to, but he would never admit it. As far as every one else knew he saw her merely as a possession, and nothing more. That was just fine with him as well. He didn't want any one to think he had gone soft because he would still take the head off of any one. Even Irena, if she had given him reason to. Some where deep inside of him he hoped that she never did give him reason to, though. He would never admit it any one, not even himself, but he had grown fond of her. Fond, not in love. At least, that's what he told himself whenever he became nervous about it. "You might not have done anything yet, but when the shit does hit the fan I know I can count on you to take care of me. That's saying a lot."
He fell silent as she began explaining the rules, and restrictions there were to having a piece of her inside of him. He could still feel the warmth coursing through out his body, and he was a little unnerved by it. So, if he summoned her to the mortal world he would have to be careful. He could look like a complete moron if he was talking to air, and no one else could see her. Likewise, he would probably scare some wolves half to death if they saw him talking to a ghost. It would have to be dealt with delicately. As she spoke about the mark being able to be destroyed he lowered his nose to it to examine it more closely. How in the Gods' names could this be destroyed? He threw a questioning glance toward her, but didn't voice his question. He didn't want to hurt her, which was rare, but she had warned him of the mortal worlds impending doom so he figured he could let her go on the wanting to cause her pain deal. "I'll be sure to take very careful care of it, Aria." He murmured softly. He didn't think he had ever been so kind to some one before. Maybe it was the fact that she was already dead, and he knew that he wouldn't get any where by trying to kill her.
That was when things got more grave, and she began to speak to him in a pleading tone. He arched a brow as she spoke about how a part of her spirit would always be with him even after she was destroyed, and wiped away from the history of this world - both physically, and spiritually. Him? Save a life? He scoffed inwardly, but then again, he remembered how one of his loved ones could get hurt. Maybe he'd be able to safe them from their own doom. Be able to heal their wounds, and make them whole once more. Besides, she had promised him to be rid of him if he ever lost himself to the darkness that was lurking in the back of his mind. It would be only right for him to give her his word. So, he nodded his refined crown, and looked her square in the eye. "I promise you, that if you are ever erased from existence I will use the part of your spirit that remains to bring some one back from the brink of death. You have my word. He murmured, his gaze unwavering.

A smile tugged at the corners of Aria's mouth as Deimos said he could count on her when push came to shove.
"I suppose it is," she said. "I am counting on you as well." She paused, then added, "That's not really something wolves say to each other when they first meet, is it?" She chuckled a little. After all, everything that was happening was so out of the ordinary for both of them. She didn't miss the questioning look Deimos had sent her way when she talked about the mark being destroyed. The reaction was, of course, warranted. Even if his paw were caught on fire, that mark would stay. If that leg were cut off, the mark would merely move elsewhere. No physical injury a mortal could lay on Deimos would destroy it. However, spiritual means were another matter. Just thinking about all the things spirits, especially foreign spirits ((See what I did there?)) could do to completely mess everything up was frightening enough, but even barring those, there used to be an ancient technique mortals could perform to forcibly kick wolf spirits out of spirit summoners. That technique had long since died, but perhaps the Great Deity's followers were being taught that. Also, there was Deimos' death destroying the mark. There were a lot of ways this could back-fire on Aria, but it was worth it to her. She hadn't realized that as she thought of these things, she was frowning. She was thinking so intensely, she very nearly missed Deimos muttering he'd take very careful care of it.
"Thank you, Deimos," she said, her expression brightening a little. "And I am sure you will take good care of it. I wouldn't have trusted you with my mark otherwise."
When he looked her square in the eye and gave her his word that he would bring someone back from the brink of death with the part of her spirit that remained, she smiled very genuinely, her eyes brightening. She hadn't realized how scared she was he'd tell her "no" until just then.
"And for that, I am truly grateful. It means a lot to me." She wasn't sure what else there was to say, so she left her words hanging in the air and waited for Deimos to respond.

Oh catastrophe, leave me to fade out the light, and uncage the night!
I KNOW LIGHT IS YOUR MOTHER, BUT DARKNESS I FEAR While Deimos enjoyed talking to her, oddly, it was about time he got back to the mortal world. He could feel the need of Erebus tugging on him, and begging him to return where he belonged. He was a demi-god, but he could remain in the heavens for only so long. As she spoke about counting on him he allowed a smirk to cross his constitution for a few moments. "In all honesty, I don't think that is something wolves tell me. Period. No wolf has ever counted on me except for a swift death. But yeah, I suppose it is strange for wolves to be counting on each other after only one meeting. There's a first time for everything, though." His words were genuine. He meant them, and he could only hope that Aria knew exactly who he was. A monster, one who was mostly interested in saving his interests. However, if it meant he had to save the whole world as well, so be it.
As he spoke about keeping his promise to use her remaining spirit should anything ever happen to her he noticed her smile genuinely, and her eyes brightened significantly. Who knew you could make females happy so easily. It was very odd for him. He merely nodded, and felt another tug from the mortal world. A frown creased his maw as he looked Aria in the eyes, and began to speak. "I don't say this often to any one, but it has been quite interesting speaking with you. The mortal world is calling me back. My duty is growing impatient. I must go, but I promise you, we will be in contact very soon." He allowed another smirk to cross his features as he quickly stood to his paws, and bowed his crown in leaving. "Take care, Aria."

"Nowadays, I'm not counted on to do much, myself. The one duty I tend to is self-assigned," Aria commented with a slight smile. It was quite true. Eiyuu would rather she keep her nose out of his business and stop trying to speak out against his judgements. But Aria blatantly refused to leave him to his own devices.
"It has been interesting speaking with you as well. I hope to see you again soon." As she said this sentence, she wondered how many times Deimos has heard anyone say that about him. Probably very few, if any. "You take care, too. I hope things will go well for you..." She bowed to him out of respect. "Milord Deimos."
