She watched him as he spoke. He thought he understood? That simply would not do. "Step away from the waters edge. I'm about to show you what happens when you allow emotions to take the best of you." She murmured, and waited for him to do so. When he did, she took a shaky breath. Her stunning eyes fluttered shut as she prepared to do something that she never did before. She was about to crack open her chest of emotions. Even a sliver gone in her defenses could wreck havoc on the entire land. She searched for a few moments, and upon finding it, grasped on, and held on for dear life. Fett was about to see something that was both truly magnificent, but mind boggling at the same time. She kept her optics closed as lyrics tumbled from her maw. At first, they fell hesitantly.
"My father... was never there for me. Where I come from, all the females did the hunting while the males sat at home, and 'protected' the pack lands. Some protection they provided... they sat on their butt's all day long, and when we really needed them they weren't there. We were blind sided - attacked from the flank. We didn't stand a chance. It was just us, all the females against a pack of ravaging males all looking for a fight, but more than that, they were looking for something to eat. Something to tear apart, to bring the ruin of. We fought them bravely, but our numbers were dwindling, and they were taking us out faster than we could kill them. We sent out a call for help - a scout had gone, and sent howled for the males aid. None came. All that survived was myself, and a few other females. Among the deceased was my mother. She had been more of a leader to us than my coward of a father could have ever been. She had died bravely on the battle field protecting what was ours, and what was important while he sat at home protecting the home lands! When the few that had survived the attack limped into camp, he didn't show too much concern. When he saw my mother wasn't among the living he retreated into his cave, and was never seen again for a week. The sorry bastard let two more wolves die under his watch because he wasn't there to aid to them...
As the female spoke, the water began to grow darker around the edges. It seemed as if it were getting angry, almost inflamed. The deeper the female got into her story the angrier the water became, the waves sloshing up onto the shore, and growing more irate by the minute. Deep within the bowls of the pond a bright light was illuminating, her power becoming more powerful by the minute. Within seconds, a great wind was whipping about them, and powerful water spouts dancing about the surface of the water, and spitting droplets of crystalline water all about the surface of the earth. The waves were now crashing against the shore, and against one another, the wind becoming more demanding, and forcing the water spouts to become more powerful. More dangerous. The female's sheer blue optics were shining like the very depths of the pond, and illuminating everything in front of her. As she came to the climax of her speech the pond seemed to erupt as her eyes flashed, and water was thrown every where. Great waves of fury were raging on the shore, and racing around the wolves. The bad part? Alba was no longer in-tune with the surface world. She had been sucked too far inside her emotions.

Fett obeyed, taking a few steps back and giving Alba space. He wasn't sure what was going on anymore, he had thought he'd understood her meaning but... He supposed not. He listened to her words carefully, feeling a little pain in his heart as she spoke of the males of her pack. Did that mean she thought he was lazy or irresponsible because he was a male? He hoped not. Yes, his weight may make him seem that way, but in truth he tried to not be lazy. He just enjoyed being fat, so no matter how active he was he always made sure to stay fat. He felt sad for her, the emotions she'd hidden so well earlier were about to be unleashed, he could tell in her voice. He wanted to reach out, to comfort, something. But he could not, how was he supposed to? And he was supposed to be learning something here, not reaching out. But still, he wanted to. As the water started to change, it seemed to reflect her emotions. Her angry emotions. She seemed angry, so angry... Fett's heart broke a little inside, and he felt slightly afraid. He hoped she didn't go berserk on him just because he was a male. He watched, both sad and afraid. He wanted to say something, but what could he say? He was lost...

It hurt. It all hurt so much. The loss of her mother hurt her from the day she saw her go down, and she couldn't save her. The loss of the battle hurt her pride, but what hurt her the most was the rejection from her father. She had needed him just as bad as he needed her, but he refused to give them that comfort of each other. He wanted to dwell in his self pity, and hatred. On the day she left he was still distant, and cold. He distanced himself from her. He was never there for her, and that was what hurt the most. In all her anger, hurt, and dismay a little voice in the back of her head was whispering, and coaxing her to stop what she was doing. Her demonstration was spiraling way out of control, and she knew it deep down inside of her, but her emotions had dug their claws into her mind, and drug her deep down into the depths of their cage where she never ventured. She felt as if she was suffocating on the inside - trapped with no escape, with no hope.
She clawed, and fought to surface once more. She fought to escape the black muck that surrounded her on all sides, and her flank. It was nearly impossible though. It felt as if a thousand hands had gripped her bodice, and were now dragging her soul deeper into the darkness that was inside of her. She was gasping for air on the inside, but could not catch her breath. In the physical world, she was probably standing there holding her breath, but spiritually she was drowning. The hands were dragging her deeper, and deeper, and there was no life line for her. Her chest was burning, and the sensation was slowly ebbing through out her body, and attacking every organ that she possessed. They were slowly beginning to shut down while the storm outside only grew more powerful, and defiant. Her body began to grown numb to all feeling, and the only real sense of anything Alba had was the sense of drowning, and nothing yet. However, the voice that was coaxing her to calm down had become more powerful as well.
It would be her life line. Her way to escape her emotions. She grabbed onto the voice, onto the light that it offered, and hoped that it would rescue her with ease. It was as if breaking the surface of water. Air rushed into her oxygen deprived lungs, and the white femme's optics flung open. She gasped several times, her whole body convulsing, and shaking from the ordeal. The storm was still in full fledge, and refused to calm down until her say so. By now, she was soaking wet from all the water that was being flung around. She felt weak. As soon as she could focus enough on the task at hand she began to reign in her emotions. As she did so, the angry water began to settle down. The water spouts disappeared, and the angry waves began to dissipate into the body of water. Still gasping for air as everything was going back to normal she turned to gaze at Fett, and managed to ask between gasps "Now do you see why it's important to maintain control?"

Fett watched, mesmerized. Afraid. Sad. So many emotions brewed inside his belly. She seemed so sad, so angry. Fett felt for her. He shook his head, shaking the thoughts away, but the feelings lingered. He trotted slowly to Alba and sat down. He nodded slowly, still looking at the water. "Yes... I understand now." He looked at Alba, and he offered a kind and gentle small. A small one, but it was all he could muster at the moment. His emerald eyes sparkled with a hint of watering, tears. He gently reached one big paw up and laid it on her shoulder. It wasn't appropriate, or well it didn't seem to be, but he felt he had to. "I'm sorry, Alba..." He knew this had nothing to do with the lesson, but he just had to. He gazed at the water again, his paw still on her shoulder. "Thank you... You know lots of things, you're amazing. You'll be a water master soon if you aren't already."

Pity. She didn't want his pity. She could see it in his face, in his sad smile, in his optics. The way he gave his emotions away so freely was sickening. The female wolf was silent as he trotted over to her, and placed his big paw on her slender form. Her stunning blue optics were drug from the depths of the water to the male as he sat beside her, and spoke. She shook her crown, but didn't step away. For one, that would be extremely rude. For two, even if she was going to step away she didn't have the strength to do it. She was lucky she was still standing. Her columns were shaking under her weight, and she felt as if she was going to come crashing down to the terra. However, that would be showing weakness, more weakness than she already displayed and she was not willing to do that. He said he was sorry again. She cringed as the words left his mouth, and she stepped away clumsily to gaze up at him.
"Fett, if there is one thing I don't want its your pity. I'm not trying to be rude, I know you mean the best, but what you don't realize is that if I didn't have the hardships that I had I would not be the wolf I am today. We are all given our own woes, and sorrows from the Gods' to mold, and shape us. If we don't heed their lessons we turn into the outcasts of the world. The murderers, the delirious wolves who don't fit in. Do you understand?" She asked, her blue optics searching him closely. She only knew so much because she had been taught by all four elemental mentors from her own pack. Fire, wind, water, and earth. They had all taught her how to survey their element, and learn how to approach them with confidence and ease. She understood the three other elements just as well as she understood her own element. It gave her the upper hand in the end.
"I am only wise because I had gone through many lessons before I had been given my hardships. My mentors where of fire, earth, wind, and water. I had to go through the fire, earth, and wind before I even got to work with water. I guess in the end it turned out for the better." She spoke, and glanced up at him.

Fett wasn't quite sure what to say. In all honesty, her words stung him. Pity? He hadn't meant to be showing that. But he said nothing of it. He sighed quietly inside and hung his head just a bit. Oh yes, he understood. But emotions didn't mean one wasn't wise. Fett nodded, raising his head. "Yes, I understand..." He understood what she meant, but he didn't understand her. He felt just terrible now, he'd offended her and she was disgusted by him, only it wasn't for his weight. It was for his emotions. But that was just who he was, he was a more emotional wolf. But it didn't mean he wasn't wise or weak, he thought it gave him strength. "What else do I need to know, for this lesson?"

The white female was truly surprised when the male hung his head. He was just a little too emotional, and it bugged her just a little bit. He was taking everything she said a little too seriously. Her crystalline optics closed for a moment as she struggled for inward control. "For this lesson to be complete, you must understand what I am saying thoroughly. You do not need to expel emotions from your life completely, I choose to do so because that is just my nature. When you use your spells, however, it would be for the best. Did you not just witness what spells can do to your powers?" She asked, her cold gaze slithering to his own gaze. "I nearly lost control. That is what emotions do to your powers. It sucks all control you contain in your body away from you, and you could end up killing some one. Is that what you want to do? Unintentionally kill someone?" Toward the end of her explanation her words had grown quieter as if her words had rung home.

"I understand." Fett said as he listened to Alba. And this time he didn't think he understood, he knew he understood. Yes, he'd witnessed it, he'd seen exactly what she'd done and how her emotions had affected her spell. He didn't know how else to say or think it, but he understood. He nodded in thanks, hoping to gain some kind of approval from Alba or friendship or something, he already considered her a friend for how she was helping him. She hadn't made fun of his weight, and she even tried to teach him a lesson. She was quite the wolf. He smiled kindly, gently. "I understand. Thank you, Alba."

Alba was concerned that Fett didn't really understand where she was coming from, so she stood and looked pointedly out toward the center of the water. "Do me a favor then, and ask the water to do your bidding. Remember, keep your emotions out of the way, and everything should go well." Having said that, she stood, and stepped away quickly. There was just some things that he would have to learn, but she would feel much better if he exercised what he thought he understood in front of her. Her icy blue gaze watched him then, silently, and urgently probing him forward to practice what he should already know.

Fett nodded and fixed his gaze on the water. He closed his eyes a moment and let all emotions go. He envisioned what he wanted the water to do in his mind, then opened his eyes and gazed at the blue water. He gave a slow, quiet, heavy sigh and rose both front paws in the air, as if he was a maestro. He started waving his paws in the manner of a maestro as well, and made the water rise up in the air and take the form of a stag. He made some of the water split off and form what looked like icicles, he also made it seem like it was raining just slightly. He envisioned the stag weaving between the straight row of icicles while the rain danced around it, and as he envisioned it, it happened. This was his masterpiece right now, the water seemed to glisten as it did as Fett had instructed and envisioned in his mind. Fett wasn't an expert, but he thought it was beautiful...

The white she-wolf stood back, and watched as Fett took his place at the waters edge. She was quiet as he used his own technique to ask the water to do his bidding. First, it looked a little rough, but as he began to transform the water into the form of a stag she couldn't help but beam on the inside. It truly was a feat for a beginner such as Fett to accomplish. She waited for a few moments while he soaked in the creation he had made. "Very good, Fett." Her cold, soft lyrics sliced through the atmosphere, and for a few moments she let the chill linger in the air. She then continued on with the lesson. "I want you to ask the water to perform an attack, and then a maneuver you would use for defense." She said, tilting her crown to the side thoughtfully.

Fett nodded at Alba's request. He let most of the water fall back into the lake, the remaining water he kept hovering he formed into the shape of two wolves. Two wolves with his physique, anyway. That's how it had to be if he were to use his own attacks and defenses right? He had the first wolf perform a simple attack, nothing fancy for his first try, just a lunge with teeth out to bite the neck. He had the second wolf rear up just high enough onto it's hind legs to take the bite to the chest, then once the first wolf had gotten the chest the second wolf fell back down on all fours, forcing the opponent to lose grip and fall to the ground, then the second wolf dug it's own teeth into the back of the first wolf's neck. Once the practice water fight was done, Fett looked to Alba for approval.

While his use of his powers was very impressive indeed, she wanted to see him do something that didn't look as if it would be in a show. With out saying a word, she moved toward the edge of the water, and took a glance toward him. With out warning, the water in the center of the pond began to bubble up, and raise into a great wall of water. With out a word the water shot forward toward the he-wolf with great speed. If he didn't react properly, and fast enough he would end up getting swept off of his feet. She wanted to see him do something that could potentially save his life when quick thinking, and reflexes were necessary.

Fett watched Alba quietly and curiously, wondering what she was doing? Then when she made the water go at him, he was stunned, he hadn't expected it at all. His reaction was slightly delayed, but not so much he would be swept away. He jumped and rolled to the side away from the path the water was taking and used the water he'd been controlling for his sculptures to make another wall behind himself to block the water that was thrown at him. He got back on his feet and looked at Alba, surprised. Was this part of the test? Combat skills? He wasn't too skilled in combat, not like he should be, he had few encounters with other wolves. The things he encountered he usually just ate, because most all he ever encountered was food. Besides Miyuki of course, his beloved Miyuki...
