01. Rules

These are the rules of FS. They are to be followed, not ignored. We aren't generally mean people, but if you continue to ignore what is provided for you, more drastic measures will be used. The things in red are newly added rules.

OCC Rules

.o1 Respect: Respect hinthint is the keyword on FS. No racism, or prejudice will be tolerated on this site. There will not even be a warning, this is it. If you are seen making racial comments in the c-box, or any where on this site, it's an automatic ticket on the ban train. It's common for characters to hate each other, but members may not hate each other. You may dislike some one on the site, but keep it to yourself. If you are seen putting another member down, it's an automatic ticket to jail, meaning your account will be suspended for a day, or so. Respect the staff. Teu and Riv worked our buttocks off to get this place running, and disrespect will not be tolerated. You will get a one way ticket on the ban train if you can't follow our rules. These punishments are easily avoidable, guys. All you have to do is respect every one on the site.

.o2 Staff: As staff, we strive to make FS a wonderful experience for you. If a staff member is doing something wrong, please by all means let one of the admins, Teu or Riv know, and we will take care of it. No one, and I mean no one, is exempt from the rules. If a staff member is found in the wrong for something major, their staff duties will be striped from them, but they will not be banned from the site unless more trouble is started. We don't like sending people on the ban train, but we will if we must.

.o3 Characters: Make characters exciting, and dynamic! Not every character on this site can be a bad ass murderer, and not every character can be a drama queen! We don't need a bunch of billy bob's, and sally may's running a muck on the site! We need clean, fresh characters with interesting plot lines, and histories! What we don't want is a character who's history sounds like it had been taken out of one of Shakespeare's tragic plays. A little bit of drama is great, but too much can be over whelming, and confusing. We aren't going to sit here, and tell you what you can, and can't do with your characters, but we will have standards, and if those standards aren't met you will be asked to edit your character. We aren't doing this to be mean, we are only doing it to keep the site refreshing, and thriving.

.o4 Accounts per character: Accounts per character are mandatory! It helps us admin keep track of the characters, and will make money distributions much easier. Plus, it'll help you know where your limit on characters are. At first it's a pain in the butt, but we all will have to get used to it. Please try, and adapt to it smoothly. All accounts must be logged in daily, and when activity threads are posted, all active accounts must be accounted for.

.o5 Keep clean: In the Proboards rules it states clearly that no pornographic material is allowed on the site. PG-13 material ONLY. Wolves do not make out. There is no tongue action involved unless it's the cleaning of each others fur. If you hare found with pornographic material in one of your threads, the thread will be deleted, and you will be PM'd promptly. There will be a serious consequence for this offense as well. We ask that you don't bring it to the site at all. This mean, it isn't allowed anywhere. Not in the c-box, not in PM's, and not in threads. If it is found, you can very well be given a one way ticket to the ban train. We don't want to ban members, but this is a serious offense because the site can be taken down for these.

Also, curse words are allowed, but MODERATELY. This means, no sentences like "F-THIS, F-THAT, F-MY LIFE, MY MOTHER IS SUCH A B-WORD! SHE CAN GO F- HERSELF IN THE A-WORD." That is a no no. We understand if your having a bad day, and the use of language is okay. But moderately, please. We may have an younger audience on the site, and do we really wanna be the ones to corrupt their minds? Cursing is also allowed in character, but same rules apply. Read in-character rules for more information.

.o6 Advertise and Affiliate: So you made your own site, and are looking for members? GREAT. I'm happy for you! But keep it out of our c-box. It is not there for your advertising needs. There are areas for this to be done at, so please keep them in their respective places. This means no sharing sharing url's in the c-box! If you need help with your site, and some one offers to help you, Please. PLEASE PM them the url! The consequences for ignoring this simple rule will start out with a warning through either open correction by a mod, or through PM. If the warning is ignore, you will be be suspended from your account for at least a day. If you continue to ignore the rule, you will receive a ticket to the ban train. Trust me, we don't like handing out tickets, but are not afraid to do so.[/font][/size]

IC Rules

.o1 God-modding/perfect characters: I'm only going to say this once. ARE NOT ALLOWED. Perfect characters are obnoxious, and boring to role play with. What's a perfect character, you might ask? I'm glad you did!

Ex. of perfect character: "Oh my gawd, you suck! You aren't as gorgeous, or smart as me!" cried the white wolf who had flawless fur, flawless vocabulary, and flawless eyes! She was the most gorgeous wolf in all the lands! She could control her element the best, and no one could defeat her!

-points to example- NO. JUST NO. That was sickening to write even as an example. It's boring, and it's obnoxious. So, what's the correct way of writing that sentence? I'm glad you asked!

THE RIGHT WAY: The she-wolf rolled her eyes, and responded "Why are you here?" She asked, her tone hard. She believed herself to be the most gorgeous wolf in all the lands, and indeed, she was pretty, but no where flawless. She had beautiful white fur, but in some areas there were battle scars from all her other battles. Her orbs were a beautiful shade of gray that resembled the moon...

The point we're trying to make here is, perfection=boring. It's not true perfection. If you want a character to be perfect, give it flaws. This way, your character is more dynamic. Now then, god-modding. Do you know what this is? This is also obnoxious, and down right rude to the rper. You do not control their character. What do I mean? Here, read this.

Ex of god-modding: The brute laughed out loud as the other wolf tried to attack him, but he dodged the attacks each, and every time. As the wolf attacked him one more time, he side-stepped it, and grabbed a hold of the wolves neck, and ripped his wind pipe out.

-points to example- NO. JUST NO. Remember the first rule we went over about perfection? Your character can not dodge every single attack! He is not a god! Also, you can not just say your wolf did something to harm another persons character! It's disrespectful, and what is the number one rule of the site? That's right. Respect. So, you want to see the right way of doing this?

FIGHTING THE RIGHT WAY: The he-wolf laughed as he stepped out of the way for the first attack, but wasn't quite quick enough to dodge the second one unscathed. He felt claws rip into his shoulder, and pain blossomed through out his body rapidly. In a fit of rage he turned on his opponent, and lunged for his throat, aiming to rip his wind pipe clean out.

You see? This way, the rper has a chance to decide the fate of their own character. You can't just kill their character, not unless permission was giving stating otherwise. In this case, you need written permission from that member, and it needs to be given to one of the admins. Understand? Great.

.o2 Language: Language is allowed. It's perfect acceptable both IC and OOC. Yet, as I stated above in the OCC rules, it can not be every other word of F-THIS, F-THAT, F-THE WORLD, F-YOU! No. That is not okay. These rules apply for in character as well. Moderate it. If it is abused, it will be taken away all together, and you will no longer be able to use the words. For example, the word ass will be turned into donkey butt. Is that really what you want?

.03 Violence: We all like drama, and violence, but there's just a time when you need to know to back off. We are a PG-13 site. It does not only apply to affection, it also applies to violence. If it doesn't happen in a PG-13 movie, then it doesn't happen here. What, you need an example?

ex of too much violence: The female had tore the intestines clean from her kills body, and was now gnawing on his wind pipe. Blood covered the female from head to toe, and blood was pooling from the wounds the deer had gained from the attack. It was laying in a pool of it's vivid red blood. The female smirked, and began to roll in the blood, enjoying its warmth against her skin.

-points at example- THAT IS DISGUSTING. Sure, we realize that kills are messy, bloody things, but is the last part of her enjoying rolling in the deceased deer's blood really necessary? No. That is just down right disgusting, and probably wouldn't happen in real life either. So please, don't let me find wolves rolling in blood for just the heck of it. Please.

.o4 Characters: Now then, this is where the more drawn out explanation of character rules will go. As stated before, no perfect characters! They're dull! If that's their personality that's fine, but as for them actually being perfect? No! Your character will not be accepted. You will be asked to fix it. Now then, we are an elemental rpg site. We understand that, but there are just some things that will not be allowed. For example, pink wolves with purple polka dots, white socks, and a green tongue. Uh. I'm sorry, but where in that does it have anything to do with the elements? Please, try to make your wolf according to its element. It's not that we're trying to be mean, we're trying to make sure the species of the lands don't go running a muck with polka dots, and green tongues.

So recap.

Are odd colors allowed? Yes.
Are odd colors that have nothing to do with the wolves elements allowed? No.

Other than that, you are pretty much free to make your wolf how you would like them. Does this mean you can make a 6 foot wolf? No. Just no. Does it mean you can make them taller than normal? Yes. But as tall as a full grown human male? No. The answer will always be no, so don't ask.

.o5 Liquid time: Yes, liquid time is allowed! We only ask that you keep your character active in all threads! We will not limit you to how many threads you can be in, we trust that you know your own limit. However, if your character acquires an injury in another thread, and you make a thread after he/she acquires that injury, in the new thread they MUST still have that injury! We may be a fantasy rpg, but not even their wounds can heal that fast!

.o6 Mates: Mates are decided by pack leaders whether or not you can compete for these. Period. If you want a mate, you have to talk to the pack alpha first, and the pack alpha's word is final! Unless of course, they wrongly judge, and tell you no for a stupid reason. If that happen, one of the admins will review the declaration, and can in the end over-ride the alpha's ruling.

.o7 Pack hierarchy: Can females be an Alpha? Certainly. It all depends on the pack custom, though. If the pack believes females can not rule, then no. No amount of begging will make it to where your female can be pack alpha, so don't ask. If it's a pack where they practice the custom, then yes. They have a chance at being the alpha.

.o8 Fighting: There will be boards where fighting is allowed in each pack land. These areas are designed specifically for anything fight related. Training, fighting, ect. If you wish to have a fight, you go to the respective board. If you wish for an admin to monitor the fight, and decide at the end who wins, you must PM one of us. We are not miracle workers, we do not read minds.

.o9 Ghost: Yes. We allow you to rp ghosts here on Foreign Spirit. If your character dies, you can make them a ghost, but they can ONLY stay in the lands of the Gods. They can not wander about the lands and terrify members. While it'd be amusing, it can also get obnoxious, and we're not looking to do that to members. Yes. You can create a ghost right off the bat as well, but remember. Stay in the designated areas![/color][/font]
