Malaika was born a demi-god but knew next to nothing about her God heritage. Heck Malaika barely had any memories of her mother, the Water Goddess. The only female figure she could remeber was her auntie. Other then that her father had raised her mostly. But not a day went by when the demi-goddess did not think of her mother. At time Malaika wondered what she looked like. Was the Water Goddess grey and white like Malaika herself? Did she have the same or similar eyes? What did she smell like? All these questions and more floated through her brain whenever her thoughts wondered to her mother. But Malaika long sense realized that the likely hood of her seeing her mother was practicly nonexistant. The Gods had gone missing.
The grass brushed Malaika's long black legs as she moved through the meadow. The meadow was unearthly and had such a pleasing energy about it. A pale light washed over the meadow breaking through the night. And to make this meadow even more magical, where ever Malaika stepped there seemed to be butterflies all around her. Where you saw two there'd be five more two feet away. Malaika had not seen so many of the insects in her life not even in spring in a colorful flower bed. Malaika looked around, her surroundings were to breath taking for her to be in the mortal world.
Honestly Malaika had no clear idea if she was in the mortal world or not. But judging by the look of her surroundings and the pure feel of the meadow, Malaika felt like she was in a whole different world. During her brief time alone after she left her auntie she'd heard some other wolves talk about there being a place for the Gods and that no mortals could set paw upon said place. The only exceptions to this rule were the demi-gods obviously, but Malaika knew no one who had walked through the land of the Gods and she didn't have any other demi-god friends.
A soft sigh escaped Malaika's long narrow muzzle as she stretched her long limbs. She then layed down in the grass, the moonlight washing across her grey fur bleaching it white on some areas. Malaika wrapped her short tail around her hind leg and let her muscles relax. Her entire body was slowly easing into a comfort zone. A few butterflies landed softly on her head. One taking up roost on the tip of her nose.
" I never said you could use me as a resting spot. " she growled softly in a dry joke. Of course the butterflies did not care, the little creature's lived for the moment and it was barely like they were there.

Fate was unseen by the wolf's eye. The heavens were far different from the mortal world, though Alec had been here before, to get away from the mongrels when he was feeling extra irritable. You didn't need to eat, to sleep, to drink, though you could unless locked up in the underground cages of what they called the underworld. This place wasn't so empty, as it seemed to be. The dead all lived here, tons of them, unless they had vanished from some horrible crime. Though they were probably in different area's considering this one was not that popular. It reminded far too much, and too many, of the life they had left behind. As if he was standing on glass, the meadow's bottom was nearly transparent. You were able to see crystal falls from here, as if it was right underneath them with some sort of purpose. Perhaps his father used to look down at the mortals with the other gods here? He and his brother hadn't heard much from their father about the other gods. Now though. Somehow Alec left his loyalty in the hands of Eranis, the god of the four elements that still lived, and would always live. For peace seemed to be the least of concern, over everything else that was apparent.
His form glistened within the boundaries of this place. The only one he could see, was a lone female. Great. A female. Mostly he knew she was a demi-god because spirits were far more transparent, and though they were allowed to pass into the heavens, they had living flesh and blood, meaning the ghosts here would only make themselves known if they wished, or even had the training to in the first place. His purple eyes watched the small butterflies fly over to her, as he approached cautiously. Sitting on his rump near a grove of flowers, a few feet away. Not wanting to disturb her personal space for one, and for the fact he was oddly, well mannered, for a killer.
"Hello there, my name is Alec." Alec greeted with a slight dip of his head. His posture told you 'almost' everything about him. The way he sat, straight, tall, proud. His feet together. It wasn't as lazy as others, his tail curled straight around his legs, as his hind legs tucked into himself. The well groomed wolf was well defined over small muscles, he wasn't too strong though he was more on the athletic side. His cheek still showed signs of where his brother had burned him, the fur was now growing over, but the wound was visible, with dark cracks in the skin, blackened in form, then pink from the fresh flesh that was growing in. Alec had gotten used to the urge to itch it, but somehow he felt as if it rendered his form, specially for a perfectionist like himself. It was alright though, it was a wound made by his brother, so he would hold no grudge.

The pale grey and white female did not hear the other wolf coming. If it wasn't for the butterflies fluttering off when said wolf approached she wouldn't have turned her head to follow one and have saw the large crimson wolf. Really, you must be more alert!, she mentally scolded herself. Perhaps the striking beauty of the meadow had distracted all of her attention. No, that was just an excuse. While the her current surrounding did have an enticing and ethereal glamor to it Malaika could have still heard the other wolf if she'd listened out instead of assuming she'd be the only other one here. If her father were with her now she'd have gotten an ear full from the old canine. Scolded for her wandering mind, why even when she was pup and a wondering mind was understandable she'd still get her father's disapproval.
Malaika shook her head to rid her mind of the thoughts that were of her father. He was dead now no use lingering on him and his ways, at least not right now. She had company, stranger company, and you never knew when an attack might be launched at you when in the presence of a stranger.
As the crimson wolf introduced himself to be named Alec, Malaika gave one of her long black forelegs a lick out pure habit. Her glowing blue eyes then went to Alec. His build was one of a fit wolf, his fur a dark red like the sky at dusk only slightly darker and his purple eyes. Purple eyes were not something Malaika saw often in wolves, then again her glowing eyes weren't something a lot of wolves saw either. But what really poked the she wolf as she noted this Alec's physical appearance was a wound on his cheek. It looked...unappealing but what wound didn't.
Malaika took her gaze back Alec's face. " A pleasure Alec, my name is Malaika. I didn't think I'd see another face here. " she said in her soft voice.
Looking down at the transparent ground she saw the falls below her. So she truly was no longer in the mortal world. From up here she could see the water glisten like a silver thread then pour down to create the waterfall. She had not been that place before and made a mental note of going there once she returned to the mortal world.
Malaika got up and arched her slim grey body in a stretch, the moonlight catching her smokey fur and making it shine slightly. Her black paws flexed to reveal her claws more and she scraped at the invisible ground beneath her and then lay back down this time loose from letting out all that stress in her muscles. A butterfly fluttered by and lingered around her head before she shooed it away with a light flick of her furry ear.
" Butterflies are so delicate. " she muttered with her already soft tone making it more of a whisper. Malaika looked at the flower bed Alec was in. A magical place this was, it had to be if Gods once lived here. " They must have loved it here. Why would they leave such a place? Why would she leave such a place? " Malaika said with a hint of sadness in her tone at the last part.
Her mind was going to her mother again. It was funny really. Aside from the memory of her mother's scent, Malaika didn't have any actual memories of her. A thought then struck her. It was a thought she had had before but pushed it to the back of her mind. Being a goddess her mother more then likely had had other suitors before her father and so she must have had children before. Why would Malaika be important to her.
One in a million. That's all I am.

All the demi-gods seemed to have the parent problem. Indeed Alec and his brother sure did. Their mother had died giving birth to them, two males and one female. In which that was the side that Kai was born to. Though Kai was not only their nephew, but also their brother by blood, since their father had mated with his daughter. Therefore making Kai their half brother as well as nephew. The thought was slightly sickening, for even Alec himself as a king, refused to let his future generations mate with their siblings. Having some dignity involved. The gene's were simply for looks, it was who raised the children that mattered. After all, before his father vanished, he had been told his mother was kind, too kind. Alec may have gotten his fake features from her, for he was far from kind. In his sinister killing mind. Both Alec and his brother had been furious when they fund out that their father had vanished, and left Erebus to them. Yet now they had gotten used to things, they had turned their backs on him, and have only concentrated on themselves, and running the pack to it's full power. To one day rule over a larger portion of land then they already had. Specially, the forests. And thus did their loyalty stand as it always did, just to each other, and no one else. His eyes looked at her, and over towards the butterflies. Why did anyone leave anything they were attached to. Maybe it was instinct, to find something new?
"There are many mysterious things in this world, questions left unanswered, people left with nothing. But somehow, if I had been put in the same situation as my father, I would not have vanished, without having a good reason. Perhaps like all life, the gods must end be renewed like any other. Maybe they simply live longer, to show all the generations they rule under, that change is a way of life, that life is about choices and the path we choose to take, we must take all the obstacles and regrets that come with it." Alec said with a soft voice, friendly, maybe even a bit sad. As he watched their collective colors brighten, and then vanish. The butterflies, just their spirits alone. Maybe this was the second life, and never changing one. Maybe in the end they did vanish all together. They had two lives to live then and they had to choose them wisely. Though Alec could not help his nature, his upbringing was due to his father, and personal pleasure in experience. Along the way he had created his own morals, even if they were the ugliest thing in the universe to look at. A blood thirsty killer, who didn't seem to fit the picture.

Malaika nodded. Maybe the Gods leaving was not their choice and they simply had to leave. Anyway, it seemed like the mystery of the disappearing Gods was one that would not be solved anytime soon and Malaika began to feel that it was not good to linger on things she had no control over. The water wolf could be doing much better things with her time. Like finding out what she'd do after she left this place or when she'd seek to join a pack.
" No use whining over spilled milk. " Malaika grunted indicating that the discussion of the Gods should be put behind them.
She looked up at Alec, the crimson wolf had a certain air of him. It was one of authority. She had learn o recognize that particular aspect of a wolf if they had it. Alec most certainly had it, she felt it. But he seemed pretty nice. Seemed, being the magic word. For all she knew he could be a total pimp or something. When Malaika thought of that she decided it was time she know a little more about Alec other then his name.
" Alec, if you don't mind me asking, what kind of element are you? I have a hunch but it could be wrong. " the grey and white female inquired. Malaika's hunch was that Alec was a fire wolf and it was going solely off the color of his fur.
