The slender white femme didn't know why she had wandered down to the caves. It could be quite possible that the sea had been calling her closer to them. Water liked to speak to her sometimes for her bond with the element had become very close over the past few years. It had been her only companion for a long while after her mothers death - a subject that she would not be willing to talk about. The element was the only one that knew Alba best, and some times it was irritating. When Alba grew restless so would the water. When she grew annoyed the water would too. If she ever lost control of her emotions her element would be unleashed in a devastating manner. The body of water nearest to her would turn into every fisher mans worse night mare - a death trap with waves large enough to swallow the empire state building with out really even trying.
Her bright blue optics peered down the dark tunnel where she found light to reveal the exit way. The female exhaled in almost relief, but would not let herself drop her guard on her emotions just yet. Each paw step that carried her closer to her redemption had fallen silently. She was a trained hunter, and was very good at what she did. The spray of the ocean began to fall on her as the waves crashed against the cliff side, and found it's way into the cave as she neared the mouth of the tunnel. The scent of the sea wafted through her nostrils, and it was welcoming. Alba found herself aching to let her guard down here in front of her old friend. Her element would not betray her here. Her element knew the deepest, darkest secrets that Alba would never tell any one else. Her chest was aching, and tears stung at her optics, begging to be released, but Alba would not hear of it.
Instead, she allowed her absent gaze to wander along the horizon as she thought about every thing but what her spirit needed most desperately, and that was release. Release from her burdens, from her emotions. However, the way Alba saw it was emotions only got others killed. Besides, she had been holding them in for far too long to let them out now.

That was the sound of water droplets dripping from the ceiling overhead. Plip, plop. As though there was no other tune these caves knew. It irritated this she-wolf somewhat as she took a stroll through one of the many confusing tunnels this place was known for. Luckily for her she had frequented this site and was able to maneuver her way without much difficulty through its winding, dark, glossy corridors. Although she had not too long joined the Sangue pack, she made it her job to know every nook and cranny of these woodland areas. What can she say? She was very much interested in the landscape of this new pack and its neighbouring lands. Explorer, would have been her second name if she was ever interested in having one. Long strides lend this bronze coloured wolf towards the ending of the tunnel. The sound of the sea breaking on the shore was welcoming as she was ready to get out of the dark and into the light. She did not hesitate to take a daring leap knowing that she could miss her footing and take a head first tumble into the white sprays and surely become ‘one’ with the jagged rocks, but it was just the thrill of it that she wanted. Naja landed awkwardly on top one of the larger rocks, her front left paw had slipped but she had quickly steadied herself which brought a smug look of satisfaction on her face.
Oh how she would be in trouble if her Alpha knew what she was doing out here in the tunnels. Since she was new in the pack, she really did not have a ranking and was not given any over bearing tasks, so she had taken it upon herself to sneak out once in a while when no one was looking. She chuckled, at the thought of how he, the Alpha, looked when he gave his scolding. Sure she could afford to laugh now since she was not in his presence but she would not dare do so if he was standing in front of her right at this moment.
Her chuckling came to a sharp halt as she now stood on all fours, her fur bristled, ears alert, there was someone here. She had been careless, too careless if she was only now realizing the presence of another animal. Turning her head to her right, she was quick to find that ‘presence’. There stood another femme like herself of a similar build but her coat was of a white hue. For minute she froze, her eyes glued on the target. A throaty growl was released from her lips as she stepped down from the boulder, her optics never leaving the she-wolf.
Who was she? When had she arrived? Did she come through another tunnel that she was unable to sense her before? So many questions raced through her mind, but she decided to stay her ground. Turning her back against a strange wolf was never a wise decision. With eyes narrowed she asked bluntly. “Who are you? To which pack do you belong?” Naja was never one to beat around the bush.

Alba had sensed the other female wolf a few moments before the female had learned of her presence, but decided to play it cool, and ignore her. After all, she had been here much longer than the other female, and had done nothing wrong. Her sheer blue gaze stared out into the open waters, her gaze unblinking as her mind whirled with thoughts. Perhaps she was a product of the sea. She had always been drawn to the water, and let's face it: she was a wonderful water elemental. Maybe she was a spawn of a wave that had crashed up against the shore and left the female pup there where earth parents had found her, and raised her for their own. That was when a throaty growl interrupted her thoughts. Great, thought the female with a roll of her eyes, but didn't turn to look at the intruder. I came here simply to be by myself in solace, and think about my past without worrying about possibly harming some one else.
Alba turned her petite crown to gaze upon the intruder. She was in a offensive position, usually only used when one was threatened by another's presence. If this she-wolf wanted to be dumb, and attack Alba while she was near her element it would be her own funeral. The female was of a similar build as she was. Slender, but very powerful, was the white femme's guess. As her words sliced through the atmosphere Alba's gaze narrowed in on Naja, but she didn't show any other emotion than that. Her constitution was a blank slate. Unreadable. In all honesty, she didn't like how this female was trying to be dominate over her. The only wolf that Alba answered to was her alpha, and her alpha alone. She would not tolerate some little pup who was strutting around like she owned the place, and thought she could question Alba as such. These were the irritating thoughts that were making course through her mind, but she didn't let them reach the surface.
"My calling is Ipomoea Alba - no one calls me that, though. They simply call me Alba. I am of the Sensuret pack, and I assure you that you are not my alpha so stop questioning me as if you are. My guess is that you do not yet have a job, and are only here to try and establish some form of leadership. My dear, your pack - what ever it is - does not have any authority here, and you would be wise to stop trying to act as if it does. Now then, since I have given you my calling, and pack, it'd be only wise of you to give your own." She spoke with a voice that was calm, but cold. Like a winters first snow. It wasn't harsh, but still lacked emotion, and could send a chill down your spine. The white femme watched Naja closely for she had a feeling that she would not take too kindly to her words. Alba couldn't find it in her to care.

Peculiar. That is how she would describe the she-wolf that stood a few feet away from her. Very peculiar. Slowly, but still very wary of her ‘guest’ she sat back on her haunches as she sensed no imminent threat being emitted from this ‘Alba’ or whoever she said her name was. Certainly, there was more on this wolf’s mind than for her to take any interest of a stranger’s presence Naja assumed as she observed that the femme had a faraway look. Not that she cared, but it annoyed her that she spoke to her as though she was a mere omega.
“Quite distasteful,”
|
she said quietly but in a firm manner. She was referring to the comments made about her pack not having an authority here. Who was she to say such? Oh right Ipomoea Alba. That was her name… “Ipomoea.” She looked thoughtfully to the sky. The name was familiar to her, but she could not put a paw on where she heard it from. Her gaze returned to Alba. Rising to her feet once more she went two paces to her left then sat again, this time more comfortably as though she planned on being there for quite some time. There was more under the surface of this white wolf than meets the eye. This much Naja could tell. It was as though she was just a coiled snake waiting to pounce on whoever was the unlucky victim. A shudder went up her spine at the thought of it. However, Naja had no intention from the beginning of answering her right away. Oh no. She would take her time, afterall there was nothing much to do. Tapping one paw on the ground she furrowed her brow then tilted her head to oneside as she looked at Alba. “Morning glory?” She asked with a hint of confusion in her voice and just a tiny bit of mockery. “Hmm, that’s disappointing.” She sighed to give a dramatic effect. “Well that’s if what your name really means, then you’re quite the opposite. No sunshine here. Then again it’s not my place to say, Miss Alba.” There was no malice in her words, she was just being blunt. That was how she was. “I’d you rather not make assumptions about me and I do believe I am free to ask questions as I please. I see no pack boundaries here. Even if there were, it’s just you and I that stand here. Just you and I.” She did take note of how the she-wolf constantly stared at the open water longer than most would, maybe there was some connection there. Was that her element? Surely, she could not be a normal wolf. There was hardly a ‘normal’ wolf around these parts of the lands. Or was it that she was just reminiscing about past events? Naja was having some difficult differentiating. Silence cloaked the area for a moment or two until she spoke once more. “I’m Naja from the Sangue pack.” [/div]

The only response Alba could offer the female to her remark of Alba being distasteful was a quiet snort, and a disapproving shake of her head. Poor child, she would learn soon enough. "These are neutral lands. You're pack has no say as to who can be here, and who can't. There was nothing distasteful about my comment, it was only the truth." She spoke, her voice very even although there were some hints in her words that she was amused with the female, and her words. She repeated the first part of Alba's name, and looked thoughtfully to the sky. This was a little irritating, but Alba refused to let it surface that the female was getting to her in such a manner. The female seemed to be restless, and rose to her columns just to move two steps from her original position, and then settle herself in like she was going to be there until fall came. That was when she said her next lyrics which instantly earned her an icy glare from the white she wolf.
Morning Glory? This female apparently had no Latin knowledge at all! The female snorted with indignity, and replied "There's no sunshine here because that is not what Ipomoea Alba means. It actually means moon flower. In which case, my name fits me perfectly well." Morning Glory? Really? The females icy blue gaze was averted from Naja as she looked back out to the see. It was calming her down. She needed all the soothing vibes it brought her before she brought the wrath of the ocean upon this ignorant female. It was one thing to act like a bad ass, and another thing to actually be a bad ass. This female was only trying to act like a bad ass, but in reality, was just looking to get under some ones skin, and try and cause trouble. That was what all wolves of her age did, wasn't it? That was when she said she'd rather her not make assumptions about her. The female turned her gaze toward her, and arched a brow.
Was she really the one who was making assumptions here? She thought not. "The only one making accusations here is you. There are no pack boundaries, therefore you have no right to question me as if you own the place. Furthermore, I was here first, so if any one should be questioning any one it should be me. Lastly, you do make the point that it is just you and I that stand here, but where is it's relevance? I don't plan on attacking you, and you don't plan on attacking me, as far as I can tell. We're just two females meeting for the first time. If you don't mind my asking, what element are you?" The ocean sprayed more mist up at them, and Alba closed her stunning blue optics as she reveled the feel of the mist dancing through her fur. The scent of the sea filled her nostrils, and calmed her down for the most part. She found herself again, and was ready to face this female in front of her with the upmost curtsy. That is, until she made another smart ass comment.
The female glanced back toward Naja, and began to speak once more. "I am of the water element." She offered. Nothing that she had said had been unfriendly, but it hadn't been full of emotion, either.

|
She was not speaking to anyone in particular but simply just talking out loud. It was not an apologetic statement towards the femme as it was more of her making light of her mistake. Again she took her eyes off of the fae and turned her attention to the waves. For what it was all worth, she had no real interest in the motions of the sea but was a tad bit curious as to what this she-wolf was so mesmerized by. Some kind of therapy treatment? Her ear twitched in the direction of the wolf as she spoke again about accusations. Or something to that effect. Naja had slowly tuned her out. There was something unsettling about that wolf. Maybe it was those blue eyes. As she thought back, she had never really looked her straight in the face. She had focused more so on her muzzle when she spoke but never the eyes. Curiosity got the better of her as her gaze now was set dead straight on her optics. Void. That was all that came to her mind, even though it was just but a glance turning to her head to look back at the sea. Again a moment of silence filled the air before she heard the female declared that she was of the water element. That caught her attention. She did not see the need once more to speak on the issue of pack boundaries. The femme would surely have something to say and she rolled her eyes at that though. Naja thought that maybe she was too uptight, rigid. “Hmm a water element, I haven’t met many of those before,” she said truthfully her head now leveled with the female’s own. “I’m an earth element wolf.” A small smile came to her face. Naja was proud of that fact. It may not seem much to others but it reminded her of happier times when she was pup. However, the smile did not last long as she remembered those eyes. With a slight frown she spoke. “Your eyes, they appear to be cold. Well I don’t know really how to describe them. Does it have something to do with you having a water element?” The female now had her full attention as she waited patiently for her response. [/div]

It appeared that Naja had tuned her out as she spoke earlier about assumptions. That didn't irritate Alba much, it was the females own lost if she chose not to listen. It just showed what kind of character Naja was, and what kind of attitude she would have with her alpha. God bless his heart. It seemed to Alba that she had been reluctant to make eye contact with her, and that was also okay with her. Alba flicked her audits forward to catch her lyrics as she spoke about not meeting many water elementals before. Alba arched an eyebrow, but didn't say much of anything else. She had met only one other water elemental during her travels here, and that was the humongous he-wolf she had met just the other day, and offered to teach him some of what she knew about water bending, so to speak. Naja then told her what her element was, and she ducked her head in greeting. "Aye, then I guess we're both in the same boat. I've never met an earth elemental before." If they were all like Naja, she wasn't sure if she wanted to meet another earth elemental.
She noticed the small smile as the female had spoke about being an earth elemental, and she also noticed when this smile faded to a frown. Alba was observant, and made certain to pay close attention to critical details. That was when she asked about her eyes. To be honest, it caught her quite off guard. Her eyes desperately wanted to tear away from the females prying gaze, but she held her ground. "Not all water elemental wolves have blue eyes. In fact, not many do." She spoke, and turned her crown to gaze upon the ocean once more. "My eyes really don't have much to do with my element, my mother was a water element just like myself, and she had brown eyes. However, when I use my powers, and if a spell is strong enough, it'll cause my eyes to pulse a bright blue, and so will the depths of the water. I'm not quite sure why, to be honest with you." She spoke truthfully. Alba wasn't just a water elemental, she was also an ice elemental. She could freeze water easily, and had no trouble with doing so.
