The he-wolf was making his rounds, and checking up on the borders. It was his and his brother's job to make sure the borders maintained the fire wolves scent, and if it did not, it was their job to mark it again. If you thought really hard about it you would find it appalling. So don't. The red he-wolf found himself thinking back to Irena. She was his. His property. No one else's. He shook his head, and snarled softly under his breath. He had to get his tasks done, dammit! That was when something caught his attention. An audit flicked in the direction of the south, back near where the hunters left to go... hunt. He grew curious of what was going on, and slowly began to creep toward the altercation. Perhaps there was another female trying to escape? His right column with the ebony flames racing up the length of it always lead. It was almost as if it was a self security thing. He crept low to the ground, and made sure he stepped easily over dry leaves and twigs. He was curious, you see. He wanted to know why a guard would be yelling so loudly, and who he was yelling at. Little did he know what exactly he was creeping up on.

Irena stood on the edge, the edge of the border, her prey had been dropped as the other hunters had fled and left her there with that same guard that Alec had saved her from though he had also sent him after her before hand. This was the same guard that had been picking on her, and her fellow females were no help. His laughter filled the air and it made her cringe it made her afraid as she covered her fearful gray eyes with her front paws flicking her tail. The guard laughed and snarled at her. "What makes you think you have the right to cower. You pathetic female, look at me, look at me straight in the eye." He stepped on her paw and she yelped loudly, inching away her tail tucked inbetween her legs. Though anger flared in side of her. She had recently gained a new spell, which meant she had no idea how to use it. Her eyes showed fear, and anger as the tiny sparks of blue fluttered on the ground, though she turned to see Deimos which stopped her, as the Guard snapped at her, inches from her nose as she barely was able to escape his jaws.

He saw a group of hunters, and a single guard. At the front of the hunters was a lone silver female, and the wolf was laughing, and getting in her face. He blinked a few times, his amusement slowly drifting away as he realized the silver female was Irena. His Irena. His jaw tightened, and his the muscles that were corded through out his lean frame tensed. His audits picked up the guards lyrics, and he almost launched himself at the guard right then, and there. He waited for a few moments though. Maybe the guard would redeem himself. That was when he stepped on her paw, and he had nearly enough. Sparks were racing from his paws, and scattering across the ground. His ebony lips pulled back to reveal deadly daggers. He could see the blue sparks racing from her form, but then she took her gaze off of the guard, and looked at him. She stopped using her powers, and the guard made his final mistake. That would be the last mistake he ever made. He snapped at his female. His.
He no longer thought about saving the guards life, he only thought about destroying it. A blood curling bark was heard as he sprang from the bushes, and threw himself in-between the females, and the guard. The guard had still been in mid-snap, and Deimos snapped out with his own jowls, and grabbed the he-wolves mouth within his deadly grasp. He lifted himself up on his hind legs, and gave a swift twist of his crown. A sickening crack was heard as he threw the guard away from Irena. As he walked toward the frightened guard lightning came in sparks as he stepped, and moved across the ground where ever he moved. The guard was cowering, and Deimos snickered at him. His voice grew dangerous, and hard as he spoke. "What makes you think you have a right to cower? You pathetic guard. Look at me!" He bellowed, using the guards own words against him. The guard was in pain, and bleeding, but still looked his death square in the eyes. "Let this be a lesson to all of you!" He snarled. He knew the guards were nearby.
He looked very closely at the he-wolf, and said quietly, yet was still some how heard. "She is mine. You touch her, and you will die. If you make any motion at all to touch her, you will die. Pay close attention to your comrade, guards. For your fate will be ten times worse. Ten times as painful. Ten times slower." Having said that, he turned away from the wolf, and within moments his head imploded from the inside out. Deimos had taken control of the fire in the fire wolves very life blood, and had imploded it from the inside out. However, that took a lot of energy. He found himself falling to his knees, and to his side. The whole world went black.

Irena hadn't really payed attention to what was going on as the King went out on a rampage. He was causing a commotion, had he been any other wolf, she would scold him. But that was remembering the days that she had her freedom. Irena shook the memory away, but either way she was surprised if anything. The guard that had picked on her almost everyday was not dead, head exploded right in front of her. The other females whispered among each other starring at Irena with evil glares almost. Irena's blue eyes glistened as she looked at them. They were surprised, they wondered what she had done to become in favor of the more aggressive brother. Irena was sort of, proud of herself, if anything. She turned towards Deimos, but didn't say a word.
"I only asked what kind of food he wanted." She whispered. Wondering what she had done to anger the guard all this time. Or if he was just plain stupid. Irena was simply doing her job as a hunter, and she had been asking a male what food he wanted so she could catch it for him. Yet no luck had been given to her. Irena was almost given up trying to please anyone but Deimos.

Thankfully, Deimos didn't stay out for too long. He could feel the color slowly coming back to his eyes, and then the feeling was coming back as well. He opened his multi colored eyes, and glanced toward Irena. She seemed shocked, and perhaps some what disappointed in him. For some reason, that bugged him, but he didn't let it show. He slowly got to his feet, and glanced about. They were whispering. "Shut up!" He snapped at the rest of the females, his voice hoarse, and muscles trembling. He probably couldn't do anything to them now, but if they didn't listen he would get them the next day, when his energy was fully renewed. "This guard was executed solely because he just did not know when to stop. Get back to work! All of you." His lyrics came out cold, and icy. He glanced at Irena, and then looked away once more. "Except for you. I have to speak with you about something." His voice was still hard, and deadly, but he wouldn't look her in the eye. He glanced about to see the rest of the females still standing there. "Move!" He bellowed.

Irena wasn't too scared, her shivering was mild, but she still had her eyes un-amused as he yelled at the others, she had grown used to this behavior a long time ago. The twun's tail flicked in a submissive and uncomfortable manner as the rest of the hunters left on their hunt. Irena settled herself down, looking at the body of the guard. Well, didn't he look a lot better? The female waited for Deimos to say something to her. He had said he wanted to talk, and she would listen. There wasn't much choice in her matter anyway. But, she was rather enjoying the fact she was the king's pet. Even that, surprised her in many ways. Irena's shivering was almost unnoticeable.

The king stayed silent for a long time, his gaze lingering on the ground in front of him. He wasn't his self, that much was true to be seen. He waited for the rest of the females to leave before he finally glanced up at the female, an eyebrow arched. "You don't look very amused at the moment." He stated, and slowly moved toward her, an eyebrow still arched at her. He then glanced back over toward the male, and asked her "Is it because you hate death in general, or did you really not wish him dead? Or is it because you wished to kill him yourself?" He inquired, really quite interested in why she looked not very happy to see him here. He fell silent after that, not bothering to say anything else. His head was pounding fiercely, but he still wanted to know what was going through her head.

Irena searched for some source of pulsing blood within the guards body. Looking up at the king's chest, but not meeting eye contact. She shrugged, "I'd give you an answer but its mainly the blood that distracts me. You sprayed it all over the place. Not that I have a problem with it." She stated. Sitting submissively. This was actually how she usually was, if not for the fact that she felt too comfortable around Deimos. Her shivering causing her tail to curl around her side. "Plus my opinion doesn't matter, he was your subject." She said with a yawn. Yeah, she hadn't gotten much sleep last night. She didn't feel any more privileged then she was before, after all all the females still treated her like an outcast. She was also still afraid of men.

Deimos felt as if he had done more damage than good with the stunt he preformed. He stiffened, his jaw locking in anger, and multi colored gaze staring past her, and into the woods. Next time, he would merely allow her to handle it herself, and when she was brought to him for murdering a guard he would serve her with the same punishment any other female would get. He was no longer treating her any different. How else was he supposed to protect her? By promotion? That was laughable, she would become an even bigger target to all the females, and would surely end up dead that way. He stood abruptly, and nodded his head. "Very well then. I apologize for the blood. I won't intervene again. Some fish just like being in the mud for it's all they've ever known." He snorted, more angry with himself than her, but his agitation could be heard in his tone, and in his statement. That was when he turned to leave. There would be no living with her after this. He paused, and glanced over his shoulder "Come find me when you feel the need for blood. I will still offer you that service."

"Very well then. I apologize for the blood. I won't intervene again. Some fish just like being in the mud for it's all they've ever known." I Apologize. Did she just hear those words correctly? Deimos, the aggressive brother of the twins who ruled Erebus in stead of their monstrous father, was apologizing, and to her of all people? Shouldn't even he be clinging to his brother, waiting to rip someone's head off? Irena was surprised, her shivering causing her to shake as if to try and get water off for a moment to control it. Maybe this could be a good thing, or a bad thing, it depended after all. Irena's fear of men came from their father themselves. Perhaps she was getting close, just to tear him apart? No, that wasn't very noble of her, even if she did not like it, she was far too wise and too kind.
"I do not want to suck the life out of your king. Beside's if the bite marks are still there" She pointed towards the wounds on his neck from their first meeting, "it means it will only deepen the wound, and your blood has not recovered yet. There is only so much a wolf can have taken from him. I do not wish to kill me king." She didn't mean this in a way where she was coming out of line. She was only stating what her mother and father had taught her at a young age about how drinking anothers blood worked. After all, they weren't as aggressive as turned twuns. But they could do as much damage, if not more at times depending on their second form when someone pissed them off.

His skin began to crawl near where the wound on his neck were located. It was true, they were inflamed, and perhaps very painful at times, but then again the brute was used to pain. It had been something he was exposed to at a young age, and now he was sort of numb to all things painful both emotionally, and physically. He didn't think anything could kill him except for the lost of his brother. That would send him into such an emotional state that the darkness that was locked down deep inside of them would probably explode from his being, and cover the world in shadows. The world would never be the same. He blinked a few times, his brows knitting together as he looked at her for a few moments. Any one, any one at all, would have jumped at the chance to kill him if he was to be that naïve. Any other female would have jumped to drain him of all his blood, but Irena was something completely different. She was a creature that truly puzzled him. No, it was not feelings for her, but more of a mere fascination.
A fascination for where her kindness for the aggressive brother of Erebus. He cleared his throat, and turned to face her. "Ah, yes. Killing me would be a very bad thing, now wouldn't it? I did not mean today, dove. I merely meant whenever you thought it would be proper to come see me again. I trust your judgment." His lips peeled back slightly to reveal one white ivory as if it was a faint smile, but in truth, it was more of a smirk than anything else. I don't think the king knew how to smile pleasantly. "Thank you, darling, for your concern." He said, seeming utterly pleasant, but in truth he was just seeing how his words would get a reaction. If the female would be utterly surprised. Come now, did you really expect royalty not to know manners? He knows how to use them, their dear father taught them. Although they were of darkness, did you think that they could go to heavenly meetings killing, and being ruthless. I hardly think so.

Irena looked up at Deimos with the out most of her expressions. She honestly could not believe that this was happening at all. The twun in all her life had been a prisoner of war nothing more nothing less. Yet here in front of her the new king in which she had seen grow up from a small pup to an aggressive extend, was being nice to her. The pack was built on sexist heiarchy, and yet for once in her lifetime she felt as if she was actually being spoken to? Regardless, she wasn't going to get way to ahead of herself, if she got cocky, or any other qualities she used to have, the king would have her head for sure. She stood flicking her tail and looking at him for mere seconds. "Are you hungry? I can hunt for you, it is my job after all" My how the world changed in the most mysterious ways. Who would ever thought she would fall in love with a king, who thought that males were above females. She wished nothing more to be secluded with him, to bear a son who would become king in his stead. How ironic of a thought was that. Perhaps, it was a connection of blood.
Irena awaited the kings answer patiently. Her thoughts mildly elsewhere, but still as her shaking continued, she wished to be rid of the male gender for some time. Just until her body calmed, and stopped shaking at least. After all the shaking, it became muscle fatigue to get over if anything. Her bright blue eyes intensely glowing.

Why was it the female feared males so badly? The red brute wondered silently, shooting an eyebrow up as she offered to go hunting for him. He half thought for a minute that she was simply trying to get away from him because of her fear of males. Now, that simply would not do. If she was going to remain under his protection then she was going to learn not to fear him. The brute padded toward the female, his eyes twinkling with unknown amusement. He tilted his head toward the woods, and said "How about I go with you? I need to get out, and besides, it's time for you to be evaluated. Can't have you slacking on the job, now can we?" He said, his lyrics robust, and smooth, almost like a fresh cup of coffee. He turned away from her then, and began to trot toward the trees. His columns carried him easily over the terra, his paws missing the dry leaves that were on the ground quite by habit. He had been a trained hunter for the few first years of his life, but many didn't know that little fact.
The Kings had started out as mere hunters for their father. They were his eyes, and his ears, the force that made certain that his rules were followed. The Kings still establish the rules even today. The thought in its self was amusing, but he shook it immediately from his mind. He stole a fleeting glance over his shoulder to look at Irena, and called out "So, are you coming, or not?"

Irena looked upon his different colored eyes. Was he trying to get her sick? Yes, she was afraid of men, but it wasn't her fault, it wasn't like she could suddenly stop her involuntary shaking. It wasn't a big deal, until she became tired of it of course. As he started to walk along, the expression on her face was just slightly surprised. Though she shook her head and actually smiled with a bit of a chuckle. She had seen the soft side of the king, he really did still attain that pup like structure to him. She remembered when he and his brother would play together. Irena's smiled coaxed away as she trotted closer to him, and started forward. Hunting was her thing, it wasn't like she was that useless. After all, if anything she was an excellent hunter. Her favorite catches being moles, and other underground critters. Since she enjoyed digging.
"What food do you want then?" She asked, looking around the forest, her ears and nose alert. Thousands of little critters lived in the forest near the erebus territory. She wondered why they didn't claim this part, it wasn't like it would be much use would it? Irena wondered, were they afraid of expanding?

He glanced at her over his shoulder, and then looked into the depths of the woods. What would be something interesting to kill... something other than a rabbit. A bear was something that was fun, but much too dangerous, and he's seen it done before. What if they were to go head to head with a mountain lion? That would be most enticing to watch, wouldn't it? He'd get to see her other form, but he wasn't so sure that was a good idea with out there being really any cover for him. He wasn't sure what a Twun acted like in their second form, or if they'd even be able to control themselves. So, he put that idea on the shelf, and saved it for another day. Perhaps he would satisfy his curiosity when she pissed him off to the point of a death trial. It would be all up to her if she lived or not. Yes, he liked that idea very much. His audits were perked forward as he listened to all the little critters that were scurrying across the forest floor, and leaping from limb to limb in the canopy above them.
"Let's just see what we run across, shall we?" He called over his shoulder to her, his twin optics shining like gems. He hoped they ran across something that would be exciting. He was in the mood for an adventure at the moment, and what better wolf to spend an adventure with than one that was a total mystery to you. Even though he found himself oddly attracted to her, he had no idea why, or what had caused these series of strange events to come about. All he knew was that it was very abnormal. It wasn't as if his whole personality had changed for even looking at other fae's made him want to rip their heads off, and play in their spilled blood. So it had to be something about Irena, but what? He didn't know, he wouldn't soon find out, however.
